December 9 @ 2:30 pm - 7:30 pm
A fabulous event, I’ll be at the Flaxmill Maltings from 2:30! But if you want to take part in the whole thing, there’ll be a morning ride and all sorts. From the organiser:
A charity event with proceeds donated to the Air Ambulance, Trash Free Trails, the Shrewsbury Ark and the Shropshire Cycle Hub.
The ride will start in the morning in the centre of Shrewsbury with a c.50k Alley Cat style ride (which will be both on and off road). This will end at Shrewsbury’s Flaxmill Maltings, where there will be prizes, refreshments and an afternoon of activities.
For those not wanting to ride but still wanting to take part in the afternoon’s activities, the Dye House will open at 2:30pm for the main charity event. We ask that as many people as possible to turn up on pedal bikes.
Inside the Dye House, those who have ridden the Salop Sludger before will find Dusty and their amazing Handle Bar. Sandy Plenty will be running some bike related activities. Geoff Waugh will be photographing the event. Zoenso will be running a bike related printing activity. Liz Mellor and others will be selling bike related artworks and gifts. There’ll be music / talks (more on this later). Alex from the Shrewsbury Biscuit Podcast will be there talking to people. There’ll be an art show and a collection of photos and artefacts from pervious Salop Sludger events. The Wilderness brewery will be running a bar there’ll be food for sale. And that’s just for starters.
This is a ticketed event and all proceeds will go to charity. A proportion of any sales on the day will also be contributed. We’re trying to get the brilliant Shropshire cycling community under one roof and hope this will be a great social that can donate as much as possible the the well deserving charities.
The event will run until 7:30pm.
